Just performed the in situ upgrade from Mint KDE 15 to 16 and on rebooting get stuck at the login screen.

From there, I can get to a terminal and have tried a few suggestions that I found online but nothing seems to fix the issue and I'm out of ideas.

Code:

Xorg -configure

tells me 'Number of created screens does not match the number of detected devices. Configuration failed'

lspci | grep -i vga

gives:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09)

Could really use some advice on what to do from here...

Any help and suggestions gratefully appreciated!!
