I am trying to compile my kernel and get the error message there is not enough disk space.
The partition where the Linux kernel resides has only half a Gig free. However The home partition has 8Gig free.
Is it possible to repartition the hard disk to give the kernel partition another Gig from the home partition without destroying anything
Thanks

It depends how your disk is partitioned.
What distribution / version are you running?
