I have recently upgraded to Suse 12.3 and shortly afterwards installed the Nvidia 8x graphics driver.
All went well until I rebooted.
Now it hangs during booting and all I get is a DOS like window which displays
“Initialising RamDisk …”
I can however boot into safe mode with the lowest resolution.
How can I go back to the previous configuration or how can I get the Nvidia driver to boot correctly?
Thanks

To answer this myself
I booted in a so called safe mode and carried out an online update.
After about half an hour, it finished and asked me to give user permission to the /dev/Nvidia directory, then asked for a reboot.
I was then able to start normally.http://www.linuxhelp.net/forums/style_images/2/folder_post_icons/icon1.gif
