Hi everyone,

I am just starting Bash scripting in college and can't get the dialog --gauge to work.

I'm just trying to do a simple search and show the progress with dialog --gauge.

I've tried piping and redirecting the find command to dialog about 50 different ways but can't get it to work.

Can anyone help ?

Thanks

I'm not asking anyone to my homework (the class actually doesn't have assignments, this is just practice for a test), we had to write a simple script with a menu that performed a bunch of basic commands (Add a user, add a group, find a file, add some numbers, etc).

We are not using dialog at all. The sample scripts used Echo, Read, Case and While loops. Pretty basic stuff.
I just wanted to experiment a bit but cannot figure this out. I have everything working except the 1 menu entry that does a file search.

I'll mess around with it a bit more tonight and post what I have in the morning.
