I'm trying to use wget to download a patch from a slackware mirror. Iptables is configured to accept "ESTABLISHED,RELATED" connections on port 20 and "ESTABLISHED" connections on port 21, so I changed /etc/wgetrc so that passive ftp is off. However, when I try to download the file, wget runs and then stops working at "RETR." I checked the firewall log and found that it was blocking connections from a very high port to a very high port. Could someone clue me in on what's going on?

OK. I can download if I use passive ftp, but I don't know why.
