Hello,
I’ve been trying to revive an old computer, but I’m having a lot of problems booting almost every linux distro i tried (all lightweight). When the computer tries to boot from the CD, I either get a ISOLINUX error or the computer completely freezes. The only distro I’m able to run is Damn Small Linux and only the version that uses the SYSLINUX bootloader. I think the problem is that the BIOS does not support current bootloaders. I would like to know which other distros still support old bootloaders like SYSLINUX or if there is anything else I could do. Thanks |

Not much to go on...
Can you provide some information about your computer? i.e hardware, amount of RAM etc. |

Besides damn small linux (using SYSLINUX and ISOLINUX) I tried antiX, puppy, feather and one or two more that I can’t recall right now.
The only on that worked was damn small linux using SYSLINUX. |
