Hello,

I have been trying to build a Debian server with some hard drives in RAID (1 or 5) and at least one hard drive to be removed to be taken home (in case of disaster at the office).

However, I shut down the server to remove the hard drive (hot swappable would be magical!!!) and when I power on the computer again, the devices have changed names (for instance, /dev/sda has become /dev/sdb, etc) and thus everything is messed up and the server does not work correctly.

I have been managing the whole system with uuids, but it is becoming unmanageable (for instance, a hard drive has gone down and I do not really know how to replace it).

Could you advise how to configure?

Thank you in advance
