Creating ISO from Disk Image in EDUbuntu, trying to create ISO but getting Permissions error Options

Ok so I am using EdUbuntu 10.04 I have a disk image that I took from a computer that we set our custom settings on. Now I am wanting to turn that into a self extractable ISO. I have tried K3B from with in EdUbuntu and get permission denied. This is the same thing I get when I try to change permission using chmod. Can someone help with this I have to have completed by 12/5/2011 and it is currently 11:17 am 12/4/2011 local time.

I have no idea what you mean by self extracting ISO nor exactly what you are trying to accomplish.

An ISO can have various meanings but typically it is a image file of a data CD which conforms to the ISO9660 standard. Disk images are not necessarily ISO files

First thanks for responding. Second what I am trying to do is take a pc that is configured to our settings and transfer that OS to another machine. I have done this with Windows of creating a disk image then from there creating an ISO for storage. Then when needed extract the ISO and install the image.

So I guess the better question to ask is how do I get past the Permission error so that I can compress my OS files. Once I am at this stage I can then create the ISO that I require.

Without knowing exactly what steps you are taking using sudo will grant you root permissions
