ok, um it only lets me edit eth1? how do I switch to eth0 config??? Also, I decided to just set it up as a dhcp and use the router.. as a router... I removed eth1.. how do I uninstall? it already removed the config for it on the hardware detection on startup, but it still brings up the eth1 interface... (btw, it currently has the IP of 192.168.1.64 and I cant even ping it on the network) |

ok, I have my dhcp/router with RH9 on it... ok, I had it set up as a router before, and know how to get all that working, but this modem I just got for business class roadrunner is also a router and is different. The guy set it up for my computer and since I have a static IP, this one had the same address as the router. here is the way it was set up for my windows box: IP 67.78.26.38 GW 67.78.26.37 MSK 255.255.255.252 I put all this in for the router and nothing.. no internet.. what should I do from here? |

Thanx guys, I aprriciate what u do here, its awesome how u guys help losers like me lol. Ok, I read that thing and it helps me a bit... but it doesn't help me with the windows thing... I dont thing it has anything to do with the samba deal, cuz I've had this happen to me before on an all windows network. For some reason, when I click on "View workgroup computers" it says it cannot view the computers.. I dont know why, shouldn't I atleast be able to see my own computer? I dont get it. |

Ok, I am getting sick of using my slow computer for my graphics editing, so im getting a new one. My current desktop will be put on the side as a web server. What are the recomended stats for a web server? I will probably be streaming audio on it cuz its going to be hosting my bands website. The PC's Cureent Stats: Asus A7N8X-X Motherboard AMD 2500+ OC'd to 3200+ 256 DDR 400 FSB and a 20 Gig HD (but that's not really important) RedHat 9.0 I'm wondering if the Ram and the CPU are enough... LIke I said, its going to be a graphics and audio rich site.... Like I said, what do u recomend? Also, I read DHCP tutorial by hughesjr and it was great... is there a nice tutorial for creating a web server by him? |
