I am having a problem that I think is sort of like this... I installed both k3b and xmms but when I put a CD in it does not play in xmms and when I try to use the CD ripper program it does'nt work... It says I need a certain plug-in or something like that... Any help?

I installed Fedora Core for the first time like 2 days ago and it was working well for me until it out of nowhere crashed so i restarted it and when i did it would start up but then after i entered my username and password it sent a ton of pop-ups telling me that Gnome had an error... after i clicked OK to all of them it was a black screen with just the icons for mozilla and Gaim... luckily for me i still had windows install disks but fedora was much faster on my computer than Windows was so i wanna reinstall it and get it to work correctly... Can anyone help me?
