google has failed me..... (or more likely I failed when using google)
Just installed and now running 'dam small linux' on a very old laptop. (want to set it up as a voip terminal) have a wireless card (which is currently unsupported) so have gone for the old 'plug it in route'. using a belkin router (which is fine to my netbook running windows 7 starter) but can not seem to get any life from it. not sure if it is a router issue or an issue with the laptop. My conncetion typle is pppoa but dsl seems to only give me options of dial up or pppoe. (not sure if that is important or not) any ideas? if more info needed just ask. thanks everyone. |

Depending on how your router is configured your connection is just TCP/IP. Between the router and MODEM will be PPPOA. So if your network adapter is recognized then hopefully networking will work. What is the make/model of laptop?
