i sometimes get this with some of my not-hard-disk devices smile.gif like the cd-rom or the cd-recorder of the usb camera...i mount them...i do what i do and then i decide to unmount them cause i for example gotta stick something else in that cd-rom of mine smile.gif
but when i unmount the given device, sometimes, not all the times, it tells me that the device can not be unmounted cause it is busy...so now before i unmount a device i make sure that nothing uses the cd drive. i close the file manager that i used to see the content of the disc, i close xmms if it was playing some songs on a cd...but even when there doesn't seem to be any application using a resource from the cd, sometimes...sometimes it tells me that the device is busy...and i don't know what to do..so if i want to use my cd drive i have to reboot the system and it's ok...but that's not a fair price to pay...so i'm trying to find the reason for this so i would stop rebooting everytime this message pops up!
thank you very much in advance! i appreciate it!

i'm planning on installing debian woody on my computer. i have a free 3Gb partition on which i plan to install it...the system will be dual booting, because i've got a working linux distro on another partition. the things that puzzle me are:
1. is "vanilla" the most complete flavour when it comes to device support
2. i already said that i have another linux installed...i plan to use it parallel with debian. can both linux distros use the one 196Mb swap partition i already have???
3. i'm downloading 7CD's of woody and one update cd. the second iso is named like the first cd but there's on _NONUS after it...i'm from bulgaria so i use cyrillic characters...do i have to boot that cd?

at least for now these are my questions!
thanks very much in advance!
i'm really looking forward to installing my woody!
just some more disk to be downloaded smile.gif
