hi all,

i m using sendmail-8.12.8-4 in my RedHat Mail server. part of my /etc/mail/sendmail.mc for spam filtering is as followings:
-----------------------------------------
FEATURE(`dnsbl', `list.dsbl.org', `"550 Mail from " $`'&{client_addr} " refused - see http://dsbl.org/"')dnl
FEATURE(`dnsbl', `bl.spamcop.net', `"550 Mail from " $`'&{client_addr} " refused - see http://spamcop.net/bl.shtml"')dnl
FEATURE(`dnsbl', `blackholes.easynet.nl', `"550 Mail from " $`'&{client_addr} " refused - see http://abuse.easynet.nl/blackholes.html"')dnl
FEATURE(`dnsbl', `blackholes.mail-abuse.org', `"550 Mail from " $`'&{client_addr} " refused - see http://mail-abuse.org"')dnl
FEATURE(`dnsbl', `sbl.spamhaus.org', `"550 Mail from " $`'&{client_addr} " refused - see http://www.spamhaus.org/sbl/"')dnl
------------------------------------------

its working nicely but it cant stop spaming where the return email address is @yahoo.com . spam emails are coming with a return address blabla@yahoo.com. here is a Header of a spam mail :

----------------------------
Return-Path: <fnghvwfwwnq@yahoo.com>
Received: from mail.fnfbd.net (na-200-78-239-30.na.avantel.net.mx [200.78.239.30] (may be forged))
by ns1.fnfbd.net (8.12.8/8.12.8) with SMTP id j7O5REGp027867
for <sabbir@fnfbd.net>; Wed, 24 Aug 2005 01:27:25 -0400
Date: Wed, 24 Aug 2005 01:27:18 -0400
Message-Id: <200508240527.j7O5REGp027867@ns1.fnfbd.net>
From: fnghvwfwwnq@yahoo.com
To: sabbir@fnfbd.net
Content-type: text/html
Subject: Only best sex
-------------------------------

denying mail from ip 200.78.239.30 from access list will not work as this kind of mail are comming from differnet ips with an address of something@yahoo.com to my_user_address@fnfbd.net . and i cant also denied the whole yahoo domain.

the /var/log/maillog says:
---------------------------------------------------------
Aug 24 02:10:52 ns1 sendmail[28348]: j7O6ACGp028348: from=<vruevrjtrhb@yahoo.com>, size=739, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<200508240610.j7O6ACGp028348@ns1.fnfbd.net>, proto=SMTP, daemon=MTA, relay=201009208157.user.veloxzone.com.br [201.9.208.157]
Aug 24 02:10:52 ns1 sendmail[28349]: j7O6ACGp028348: to=<maruf@fnfbd.net>, delay=00:00:21, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=local, pri=31045, dsn=2.0.0, stat=Sent
---------------------------------------------------------
anyone have any idea ??
thanx in advance

hi all,

i've a MRTG server in RedHat Linux 8.0 which shows bandwidth consumption of my clients. the problem is , the MRTG graph shows a straight line bandwidth consumption of client PC when the client PC remains off.

have a look to the follwing graph:

Straight Line Graph

From 20:00 pm to 11:00 am , the client PC was shutdown. but in graph it is showing that the client is consuming 20+ kbits/s for that time. i think at the time of shuting down the bandwidth consumption of the client pc was 20+ kbits/sec.

i used --ifref=ip statement to the cfgmaker command. and the kernel didn't give any kind of error message when i used cfgmaker command and indexmaker command.

can i fix it by editing any file or i've to make cfg file again ??

thanks in advance

hi all,

i've a linux box with redhat 8.0. eth0 interface is connected with internet and eth1 is connected with local network. i m getting 128 Kbit bandwidth from an ISP and i m trying to share bandwidth with CBQ in my local network. my obejctive is to make some classes so that child classes can borrow unused bandwidth from their parent classes .

followings are the classes that i made in my /etc/sysconfig/cbq folder

#this class is used as parent class

cbq-1001.parent
----------------
DEVICE=eth1,100Mbit,10Mbit
RATE=100Kbit
WEIGHT=3Kbit
PRIO=5
LEAF=none

#this class is used as child class of class cbq-1001.parent

cbq-3001.malechild
------------------
DEVICE=eth1,100Mbit,10Mbit
RATE=20Kbit
WEIGHT=2Kbit
PRIO=5
PARENT=1001
BOUNED=no
ISOLATED=no
RULE=192.168.100.10

class 3001 is supposed to borrow bandwidth from its parent 1001 when bandwidth is available. but in practice, this class is not getting more then 20 Kbit. i m confused about my class structer. anyone please help me....

regards

i've a linux server with linux 9.0 ..

i've limited my clients' bandwidth with CBQ . its working nicely. can i add the burstable option to my clients ?? that means, if there is bandwidth available , specific client's bandwidth will burst

thanking you all

itz working in my way. the problem is if i reboot the server.. everything is deleted frm route :S
jut tell me how can i control it through iptables. let me put the inforamtion again:

my external interface connected with internet is eth0 (216.236.104.124)
my internal interface connected with LAN is eth1 (192.168.100.254)
my linux9.0 is being used as router.
i want to allow some ip (192.168.100.4, 192.168.100.5 ... and so on) to access internet at specific time (say from 10:00 pm to 10:00 am)

how iptables can handle it ??

i m using a router with linux 9.0 and i use IpTraf.8 which comes as defautl with linux 9.0 for monitoring bandwidth consumtion of my clients' machines.
there is a strong feature in IpTraf to describe Ethernet Host (Mac Addresses) with a meaningful name. configure ----> Ethernet/PLIP host descriptions ----> Add description.
the problem is ........... when i reboot my router ...... all description that i previously added removed .
i used linux 7.2 and 8.0 before. but this problem was not there
thanking u advance

route add -host 192.168.100.100 reject
route add -host 192.168.100.101 reject
route add -host 192.168.100.102 reject

then i need to change the time only once in my cron script

now i think problem is not with cron wacko.gif
cause when i do entry followings:

00 20 * * * /sbin/reboot

the system got reboot at 10 pm .

i think i m wrong in creating executable file sad.gif

suppose i wanted to delete a client (ip 192.168.100.100) from my entire network.
CODE
route add -host 192.168.100.100 reject # ( is there anyother way ?? cause when i reboot my system the this ip comeback again)

i've made the file /bin/test and type following in that file:
CODE
#!/bin/bash

route add -host 192.168.100.100 reject

then i type

CODE
chmod 755 /bin/test

now if i type "/bin/test" or just "test" the ip 192.168.100.100 is added in my routing list and this ip cant do anything.
as this command work properly i thought it'll execute autmaticly with corn. but now i think i've to do something else to use this command with corn.

oh ! at 23:00 the /var/log/corn says:

Nov 29 23:00:00 proxy CROND[11878]: (root) CMD (/bin/test)

if i m not wrong i think it tells that CORN has made his job at right time. problem is my /bin/test command can't be executed in this way.

thank u all !! may be i need help abt writing executable file rather then corn. sad.gif

thanx !
let me tell u details wat i've done and wat i m trying to do...
i was suffering for some unexpected broadcasting frm my client's pc and write a simple firewall. my eth0's ip is static ip which is connected with internet (216.236.104.124) and eth1's ip is connected with my LAN (192.168.100.254). my firewall is something like followings:

iptables -A INPUT -s 192.168.100.254 -d 0/0 -j ACCEPT
iptables -A FORWARD -s 192.168.100.254 -d 0/0 -j ACCEPT

iptables -A FORWARD -s 0/0 -d 0/0 --dport 80 -j ACCEPT
iptables -A FORWARD -s 0/0 -d 0/0 --dport 20 -j ACCEPT
iptables -A FORWARD -s 0/0 -d 0/0 --dport 21 -j ACCEPT
iptables -A FORWARD -s 0/0 -d 0/0 --dport 22 -j ACCEPT
iptables -A FORWARD -s 0/0 -d 0/0 --dport 6000:7000 -j ACCEPT
iptables -A FORWARD -s 0/0 -d 0/0 -j REJECT
iptables -t nat POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j SNAT --to-source 216.236.104.124

someone told me to use this script for avoiding unexpected broadcasting which crashed my total network. with this script i allow only those ports which is trustworthy and which is used for specfic softwares.
is there any other way to do this job ??
i've read ur link and tried to open Net2Phone's port for my clients
but its not working . i've to open all ports from 1 to 30000 to allow net2phone. but my servers hanged up when i open so many ports.

now what to do ?
