Hey all,
I running Linux RedHat 8.0 on kernel 2.4.18.18.0.8 (or something like that), and I'm trying to make my linuxbox the gateway of my network to the internet.

my gateway is 192.168.0.1 and all the rest are 192.168.0.2, 192.168.0.3 etc...

my gateway uses two NICs:
eth0 - the NIC for my DSL modem, ppp0 will connect to it
eth1 - the NIC for my internal network

Anyhow, after reading the IP-Masquerade-HOWTO and doing all the steps the situation is like this:
Gateway can resolv DNSs, ping and surf w/o any probs.
Client(s) can ping only inside the network, cannot resolv DNS (timeout) and cannot ping to the outside wold (again: timeout) w. and exception... Clients can ping to the IP address assigned to ppp0, which is the IP address I am getting from my ISP...

The gateways, static IPs, DNS servers etc. are all fine, checked them more then three times.

Inside the network pinging works in any direction. from Client to Client, from Gateway to Client and from Client to gateway. gateway to Internet works just file. Client to Internet does not. Client to ppp0 - works...

I don't have DHCP, I am using static IP addresses...

on my gateway (w/ only one client connected):
