Yeah it should work once it has been compiled under the 2.6 kernal. The problem I am having is, is that I cannot compile it as I cannot install Fedora 2 as I do not have the neccessary RAID driver, which is what I am trying to compile...(which came first??? The chicken or the egg??) All of the compiled drivers are for the 2.4 kernals of various distros. I have tried them all.

Hi,
I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to Linux but I just downloaded the Fedora 2 Distro, but I cannot install it as there are no compiled drivers for the IT8212 RAID chipset available from the ITE http://www.ite.com.tw/productInfo/Download...33%20Controller website (they have compiled versions of most other distros). They do have the precompiled source available. Is there a way to compile the source code by booting in off the CD? I can get to the rescue shell but cannot compile from there as there are no compilers present (unless I am mistaken of course - I am a newbie biggrin.gif)
Cheers in advance.
Matt
