Whenever I click on one of my hard drives to open it up I get this message "There is no application installed that can open files of the type block device (inode/blockdevice).
Do you want to try to install one?" I'm not sure what to do. I'm a complete noob when it comes to Linux, in fact I just installed it for the first time today, and was just setting it all up when I got these issues.
Any help is much appreciated.

JJ

Need more information
What distribution / version did you install?
Are you clicking on a desktop icon?
Are these windows or linux formatted drives?

Hi.i am in the exact state as jonsed77 and have the same problem. I get this message when i try to access from "my computer" any external/internal hard drive and when i click to try install an application i get the message "The software to install could not be found in the currently enabled software repositories. It may be located in other repositories." I'm using opensuse 11.3. Note that i get the same problem about repositories for other stuff as well, like mp3 support for amarok.what should i configure...i don't get it. i am a 2 days user smile.gif Thanks
