Posted by: Robert83 Mar 19 2004, 05:38 AM

Hi,

anyone know how can I make the NUMLOCK turned on by default when Linux boots up?

oh and Hughejr ,would you be so kind and tell me where did you get those cool icons I saw, in one of you're rewievs...can't remember what was the name of the rewiev, but those icons were metalic[if I remember correctly], ...rather cool

download this:

http://ktown.kde.org/~seli/numlockx/

after extracting, go into the directory and do this:

./configure
make
make install
make xsetup
make xinitrc

it should work....

Just like to point out that Numlock is on at bootup because it's set to do so in your bios. biggrin.gif

Seems to me that it would be easier just to disable it there (so when you switch OS's, and whatnot, you won't need to run the program again).

hi,

I want numlock to stay on, not to turn it off...linux turns it off when it starts gnome or kde by default [at least for me]...
