Linuxhelp _ Technical Support _ .bashrc on my main directory

Posted by: jeanpaul002 Dec 1 2011, 07:53 PM

Hello, my website is running CENTOS, and when you enter http://mywebsite.com/.bashrc, it works, but i can see it in my ftp or even using ssh, any idea ?

Is there a risk ?

ssh is not an issue since it is a secure connection.
Unless you modify it there probably isn't anything in this file that would be a security problem.
However,
What linux distribution/version are you running?
Shall we assume that you modified the document root to point to your users directory? Do you have a virtual websites setup up for your users?

What are you trying to accomplish? Is this server exposed to the internet?
FTP is insecure. Do you need to run a FTP server?
