Linuxhelp _ Technical Support _ Prog running in Wine but needs Alt+F10 to maximise

Posted by: Graeme May 22 2009, 01:15 AM

I've got a Windows talking wordprocessor ('WriteOutloud for dyslexic children) installed and working through Wine version 1.0.1 on The Asus Eeepc (Xandros) and Acer Aspire One with Kuki Linux. On both machines the program starts but immediately minimises to the taskbar. To bring it up fullscreen you need to click on the minimised prog then press Alt+F10. After that it runs fine. Because I'm using this with school children the Alt + F10 business is a bit tricky for them so I'd prefer if it could simply open up normally as it would in Windows.

If I run from the terminal I get

err:dc:CreateDCW no driver found for L""

Can anyone help make this program run a bit more smoothly? Unfortunately I'm still a bit of a noobie though so might need a fair bit of advice!

Thanks
