Linuxhelp _ Technical Support _ NFS Mount problem on Linux

Posted by: kaushikbr Oct 21 2008, 09:57 AM

Hi

I'm currently running Redhat Linux 'Linux esuk1ds1 2.6.18-53.el5xen #1 SMP Wed Oct 10 16:48:44 EDT 2007 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux'.
This is a 2 node serviceguard cluster.
I'm using the serviceguard cluster for NFS filesystems.
The filesystems on this machine are configured as the serviceguard package filesystems which are exported to clients using the 'NFS toolkit' along with serviceguard.
I have configured a netgroup with all the client machines included, and the filesystem is exported to this netgroup.
On the server side I can see the filesystems are exported to the clients ( netgroup ).
However when I try to mount the filesystem on the client, mount fails with 'Permission denied' error message and on the server, the /var/log/messages file has the error message '' mount request from unknown host 10.0.0.10 for /local/a (/local/a)' .

Thanks in advance for all your suggestions.
Not having much experience on Linux, I'm not sure where to look.
This seems to me name resolution issue.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks and Regards
Kaushik

Not familiar with how serviceguard and nfs works together.
Post the /etc/exports file, I would expect them to be the same on both servers.
Are you trying to mount the share manually?
Post the /etc/fstab if you have an entry for this share.
