Linuxhelp _ Technical Support _ How to tell if nfs is loaded into kernel

Posted by: narduk Aug 28 2008, 02:29 PM

I have a GoDaddy Virtual Dedicated server. I want to mount the filesystem onto my Mac OS X machine.

I am trying to start nfs, but I cannot get it to start nfsd. I get the error

Starting NFS Daemon: [Failed]

I have looked in the logs and it says:
nfsd[11441]: nfssvc: no such device

From here all information I have found points me to, "is NFS loaded in the kernel"

How do I find this out?

Regards,
Logan Renz

From their website it appears that the package manager of choice is yum. You can use it to check to see what is installed
yum list nfs

See yum man pages for available options.
