Linuxhelp _ Technical Support _ Uninstalling Fedora

Posted by: deck Aug 12 2008, 09:49 PM

Windows XP is on my primary hard drive. I installed Fedora to my second hard drive. Now, the Fedora loader starts up and I have the choice of XP or Fedora. I would like to uninstall fedora to free up my second hard drive. How would I go about doing this and re-writing my MBR so that XP will load again off of my primary hard drive since I am looking to remove my secondary hard drive? Also, once Fedora is uninstalled, how would I go about formatting the hard drive? Any help or pointing to the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

To restore the MBR use your XP install disk and boot recovery mode. Run fixmbr.

Use your XP fdisk tool to delete non dos parititions and recreate an NTFS. Format via disk management or desktop explorer.
