Linuxhelp _ Technical Support _ Sound Card Help (newbie)

Posted by: gstick1234 Oct 8 2002, 11:58 PM

I am new to linux trying to get rid of windows. I went through the setup of red hat 8.0 with no problems and was very pleased with the user friendliness. I thought half of my hardware wouldn't work....anyway it recognized my sound card but i cant get sound.. I have a sound blaster live. Any help on how to debug this problem.
Thanks

though u think that u r sound card is supported but i think that actually ur
sound card is not supporetd .just observe carefully at boot time whether
that sound card configuration goes smoothly or gives a messege failed.
this is what happens in my case. in my college there is one guy
whose sound card is supported and sound also comes out but it's intensity
is so low that u have to put ear at speakers for hearing that sound.just
check it out.
