Linuxhelp _ Technical Support _ What did I break with chown?

Posted by: handygeek Mar 7 2017, 07:41 PM

I did this:

dmc@mx1:~
$ $ sudo chown -R dmc:dmc /media/sdb1

Now I cannot see any of the files or folders in /media/sdb1

What did I break & how do I fix it, please?

(Reason: I moved files & folders from a Puppy install where
everything is "root(root)". That's a problem in antix/MX-16.)

Thanks for any helpful guidance!

SOLUTION:

$ sudo chmod 777 /media/sdb1
