Linuxhelp _ Technical Support _ Windows detect My USB drive as currupted after plugging in to linux

Posted by: LowEnd Sep 3 2016, 09:52 PM

So I wanted to copy this 11GB file from my Linux laptop to my Windows PC via my USB drive. Since to copy large files I had to format my USB drive to NTFS, after copying the file to the USB I unplugged it from Linux laptop and plugged it in to my PC. Then Windows detect the pen drive as currupted.
It's kinda pain in the ass right now so can someone give me a quick solution on how to move this file from my Linux PC to Windows laptop ?

Did you format the drive to NTFS in the windows computer?

Did you eject the drive or unmount the drive using the file manager or command line prior to physically removing it from the computer? linux buffers reads and writes so if you did not unmount the drive there still could be unwritten data which would then show up as corrupted on the windows box.
