Linuxhelp _ Technical Support _ help installing gnome power management

Posted by: cpufreak101 Jan 22 2016, 04:05 PM

so i have a laptop that i am running kali linux on, and it's all fine and dandy besides the fact it shuts down every time i close the lid, from what i read this is normal behavior, but to change it i need the program gnome power management to get those options for what to do when i close the lid. i did try installing it myself, but i have absolutely zero clue what i'm doing and following the instructions just resulted in errors, most of them nonsensical ones where i try the command it tells me to use and it just says "directory not found" if anyone can help out, please do, i kinda want to close my lid without it shutting down. if anyone is willing to do remote assistance i have teamviewer installed, but i hope i can get it done just with some help. and this is now the 2nd place i asked so hopefully someone, somewhere can help me.
