Linuxhelp _ Technical Support _ Help with Terminal use

Posted by: horagor Oct 11 2013, 03:20 PM

hello all,
I'm new on using Linux and installed Ubuntu 13.04.
In my lecture, I have to use Fortran and Gnuplot. I saw that doing those work on terminal looks easy.

Let me introduce you what I've seen on the screen.
My lecturer opened the fortran code( for now, its some euler equations and such) and edited some rows, and then had an output.dat file. And then he switched to gnuplot and ran that .dat file for graphing. He did these with only a few letters writing on terminal.
I know using Fortran, but I need help on other commands.

Can anyone help with this issue? I want to practically learn the basic things to do such operations.

Thanks sincerely,

Deniz.
