I'm struggling to find the right combination to get this up and running automatically so thought I'd post here.

Background: I have Veriozon FiOS. The router they gave me only has 100mb/s ports, whereas my home network is Gigabit between the computers. I have the computers plugged into a gigabit router which then connects to the FiOS device.

Router IP:
Linux IP:

When I configure /etc/sysconfig/network with GATEWAY= and ifcfg-eth0 for IPADDR= then all is fine, except the route is automatically calculated to go through That means all the traffic goes up through the 100mb/s ports and back down.

[root@wibble network-scripts]# netstat -rn
Kernel IP routing table

Destination     Gateway         Genmask         Flags   MSS Window  irtt Iface   U         0 0          0 eth0     U         0 0          0 eth0          UG        0 0          0 eth0

Anyway, what I would really like is for traffic for to go through and then the default route to be

I've tried several conbinations and don't seem to figure the right recipe. Any advice would be appreciated.

An alternative if possible would be to configure the FIOS router as a bridge. The router part is disabled so it appears only as a MODEM. Now your router will have a real WAN address and no more traffic issues.
