I just cant get any machine on my network to connect to my Linux Server either through ssh, telnet or samba. I have all these sevices running, and I can connect to them from the server its self, I can also ping the server and I have checked the /etc/hosts.allow and etc/hosts.deny file to no avail. currently my /etc/hosts.allow has the line
ALL: 192.168.0.
and My /etc/hosts.deny is empty
supposedly to allow connectin from that subnet, but I get connection refused messages with all these protocol, I have also checked the xinetd.conf it aso seems ok.
I need help I am losing the 3 hairs left on my bold head ph34r.gif

Hello,

Is there a firewall on the machine?

Do you have your IP's specified in the sshd config file?
(/etc/sshd/sshd2_config if you run commercial ssh from http://www.ssh.com)

If you have nmap installed can you run an 'nmap localhost' and see if the ports are open/services are running?
