Linuxhelp _ Programming in Linux _ Starting To Program In Linux

Hi I'm not new to the world of programming but I'm new to the world of programming with linux. I want ot find a language that I can use in linux that will allow to me to do high level programming whell having a simple systax. does any one have suggestions.
