Linuxhelp _ Programming in Linux _ Primer for audio programming?

Posted by: Treczoks Nov 29 2012, 08:54 AM

Hi, all,

I've got an algorithm that produces audio data as output (48kHz, signed 16 bit, 1 channel). As I'm absolutely clue-free about audio programming on linux, so, at the moment, I just write the data out to a WAV file and listen to/analyse it later. But it would be preferable to be able to listen to the data in realtime, so I might tune some parameters while the program is running.

Where can I find a primer/introduction on audio programming on Linux? Preferred language is C.

Yours, Christian

I believe you can pipe the output of your program to aplay.
