Linuxhelp _ General Discussion _ Fun Linux Distros

Posted by: nimicitor Jun 30 2007, 10:39 AM

I'm looking to download a Linux distro that has lots of fun programs.
Ive tried Edubuntu and although its for 2+ yr olds the games/programs were quite fun.
Fedora Core 4 had some fun science programs on it too.

Any recommendations on what i could try next would be great.

Had you considered just downloading games for your existing distribution? Globulation 2 (glob2) and glest are good (free) games as is TA:Spring (which technically requires a license for Total Annihilation, but works regardless)

Many distros also offer a kde-games package which will install games for KDE - Maybe there's GNOME one too. See if they are isntalled, if not they may open up a whole new world of arcade fun.
