Linuxhelp _ General Discussion _ How Do You Do This With Apache

Posted by: Robert83 Jun 15 2004, 11:06 AM

Hi,

I'm doing a webserver that must be able to allow users from the internet to view certain computers (that has webservers running on private ip adress , that security webcamera stuff) in my lan.

How can one do that ?

My Webserver is (for the camera stuff) : eth0 public ; eth1 192.168.0.150 ; eth2 192.168.1.150 ; eth3 192.168.2.150

I'm trying to somehow make it to the first webcamera server at 192.168.1.200 (but I have failed using HREF...what to do here ? )

Sincerely
Robert B

what you need to do is called a reverse proxy for the other websites in apache. Basically, you make some entries in the main webserver's (the one that is available from the outside) httpd.conf and then going to http://webserver_name/directory1 sends you to the first camera server ... going to http://webserver_name/directory2 sends you to the second server, etc. All the setup will be on the first webserver.

see this:
