Linuxhelp _ Hardware Support _ ATI X1600 Graphics + Sax 2 problems

Posted by: lostinlinux Sep 8 2006, 08:18 PM

blink.gif Well hello, I'm a absolute beginner with Linux and I'm having trouble installing my graphics card properly. My system consists of an Elite Group RC410L/800-M with on-board Radeon X200 graphics, Intel Pentium 4D Processor, 2x256 mb DDR2 Memeory and a ATI Xpress1600 graphics card and Suse 10.1 as my OS.

Now I want to use my ATI X1600 graphics card as the main output but SAX2 always loads the standard VESA Framebuffer driver and as if that's not enough SAX2 has (at least on my distro) absolutely no option to pick a different driver and yet it lets me change drivers for the monitor! What's going on? How can I get it to work right? Please help me!
