Linuxhelp _ Hardware Support _ Nvidia Riva Tnt2 Pro

Posted by: tashlan Jan 21 2004, 09:28 PM

I am trying to install a Nvidia Riva TNT2 Pro card from a Gateway E4400. I am using Fedora and the latest driver from Nvidia. I am using it with a Gateway FPD1500 monitor. With the Nvidia driver I get no display once X starts. If I use the driver that is bundled with XFree86 I get a display. However, the top half of the screen shows up on the bottom and the bottom is on the top.

Here are some things I found ... but I haven't used a Gateway LCD monitor with Linux, so this is just references from google:
http://xfree86.desiato.de/xfree86/pipermail/xpert/2001-May/008350.html requires http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_1.0-5328 from nvidia. These would go into the Video card section of your /etc/X11/XF86Config file.

http://www.spinics.net/lists/xf-xpert/msg05891.html are some recommended settings for the monitor section of your /etc/X11/XF86Config file.
